REVIEW : DEAR, KLAIRS VITAMIN C DROP SERUM

K-beauty is the new trend in skincare which made me buy the widely popular Vitamin C serum. Dear, Klairs is a vegan & cruelty-free brand which believes in “SIMPLE BUT ENOUGH” and claims to use minimal ingredients  including sensitive skin.

Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop is a hypoallergenic serum formulated with 5% Pure vitamin C to treat dead skin cells, brighten and even out skin tone and helps tighten the appearance of pores.

I will be reviewing this serum today, which will help you to decide if the product is worth buying. I have been using this product since 6-8 months and I notice considerable changes in my skin.

MY REVIEW & THOUGHTS

Packaging

The serum comes in a white rectangular holographic cardboard packaging. The box contains all the required information including manufacturing & expiry details. The product comes in a 35ml clear bottle which also has holographic effect to it. Comes with a dropper packaging which is hygienic and convenient as well. This surprised me because most of the vitamin C serums I notice come in opaque bottles to help protect the serum from oxidation. But according to Wishtrend, the serum is stabilized, which is why it can effectively be kept in a non-tinted bottle.

Formula of the Serum

Dear, Klairs Vitamin C serum is more oily than watery, but runny not thick. The formula glides smooth on skin and feels warm while applying, but doesn’t irritate your skin. It is very light-weight and sinks into the skin effortlessly. The serum has no fragrance to it and has a pH level of 3.81.                      My serum has turned a slight yellowish in color now. It was colorless when I first opened it but I read that it is absolutely normal if serum turned golden yellow in color. It will not affect the efficacy of it. I store my serum in fridge for safety as vitamin c serums are very delicate if not stored or used properly it may lose its efficacy.

Dear Klairs Vitamin C serum

How to Use the Serum

In my morning skincare routine, 2-3 times in a week I use this serum after cleansing and toning. I prefer using a Low PH cleanser and a hydrating toner with it. Apply 2-3 drops of the serum directly on my skin. Take care to apply it on dry skin once the toner has got completely absorbed. As active ingredients are present do apply it away from eyes. While using Vitamin C in your skincare routine, don’t forget to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

DO PATCH TEST THE PRODUCT BEFORE USING IT CONSISTENTLY AS IT HAS ACTIVE INGREDIENTS.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH VITAMIN C SERUM

I have oily acne prone skin type with little scarring and blemishes. So, I was looking for a  multi-purpose morning serum which tackles dullness, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation and protects skin from sun damage . I got to know about the wonders of VITAMIN C . So, I started using this serum since last year and I am noticing changes in skin texture, glow, hydration and pigmentation. The serum is light-weight and applies like a DREAM. I have not noticed any skin irritation.

I always try to keep my morning and evening skincare minimal with one multi-functional serum. At night I use the ECLAT FADEOUT SERUM and its review is in my previous blog post. Do read it!!!

While using Vitamin C serum don’t use any other actives which might reduce the efficacy of the product. I always invest money in my skincare products rather than makeup products. I think that, when our skin quality will be good no matter what and how much makeup we apply it will look excellent.

NOTE : Do not apply vitamin C serum on broken and freshly exfoliated skin as it may sting badly.

THE PROS AND CONS OF VITAMIN C SERUM

Pros

  •   Multi-solution serum that transforms and rejuvenates skin.
  • Features 5% vitamin C.
  • Total anti-aging protection properties.
  • Fades brown spots and pigmentation.
  • Evens the skin tone and minimize pores.
  • Recommended to use during the day for all skin types including sensitive skin.

Cons

  •  The price (Rs 1570 for 35ml) may not be affordable for everyone.

MY FINAL THOUGHTS

If you are looking for a Vitamin C serum with potent ingredients then you need to definitely give this serum a try!!!

As always, remember that every person’s skin and skin type is different so what might work for me might not work for you, and vice versa.

So before trying a new product, do your own research and consult a dermatologist if you are unsure. Pay special attention to ingredients that you might have a reaction to.
