I have been using the MAKEUPFOREVER HD FOUNDATION since quite some time. This is the very first high-end foundations that i purchased from Sephora India store. The shade variety here is less compared to other international outlets. NO idea why so!!!! The Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation claims to be the best HD foundation that appears invisible, Natural looking and comfortable to wear.
The shade range is excellent as it varies from very fair to the deepest of the shade
range one can think of.
I wear the shade 173 = Y445 – Amber ( Best suited for Tan skin with neutral undertone) . This shade matches me perfectly as I wear NC44 in MAC Cosmetics.

MY REVIEW & THOUGHTS
PACKAGING
The packaging of the foundation is very typical MAKEUPFOREVER one which comes in a stunning black cardboard box. The product comes in a clear beautiful plastic bottle with a pump and has the information and product name printed on it in MAKEUPFOREVER’s signature font, and the actual product is housed within an inner vial inside the outer shell.
Must say, the packaging is not travel safe as the cap of the bottle breaks or opens up sometimes. The pump on the other hand is a good one. I have not faced any issues with the pump dispensing the product.
I have already used this foundation completely and it was hard for me to get the last traces of foundation that was stuck to the bottle .

COVERAGE & FINISH
The foundation formula is not too thick or runny. Its actually a medium coverage foundation but with a buildable capability. It doesn’t feel cakey or detectable when applied in layers and blended properly. It looks great on all skin types. The foundation applies so seamlessly and settles on the skin so perfectly. The foundation sets to a beautiful skin like finish.
Before applying any foundation the skin needs to prepped perfectly.
With this foundation if you have dry skin, make sure to apply a hydrating
moisturizer and a dewy primer and then apply the foundation with slight dabbing motion. This ensures that your skin doesn’t dry cakey or dry later. Set the foundation with a powder very lightly.
If you have oily combination skin like mine then, do apply a mattifying primer so that the pores are not that visible before applying the foundation. Post application do set with a mattifying compact powder as your skin tends to sweat more.

STAYING POWER
The foundation has a pretty good durability. When used with a good primer it definitely stays put together. I have used this foundation on a typical busy day it stayed intact all through the day. On a sunny day I had to blot my face once or twice and that’s it. The problem areas that the foundation wore out was near the corners of the mouth and nose because of how much movement happens. After having lunch the corners of the mouth the foundation looked faded. After little touch ups it looked fresh like I had applied.

TIPS ON HOW TO APPLY THE FOUNDATION AND KEEP IT BUDGE FREE
- Before applying this foundation take care of prepping the skin according to your skin type as I had mentioned earlier.
- In hot summers if you choose to apply this foundation, it tends to separate quickly so apply it with a mattifying primer and then a long lasting setting spray. This combo acts like a MAGIC to hold on to your foundation without fading.
- After applying the foundation use a loose setting powder to set it and then use a setting spray. By doing this the base makeup will stay intact and wont budge.
